You can use the data types and functions of the TimeSeries extension (which was formerly known as the TimeSeries DataBlade module) without performing some of the previously required prerequisites tasks, such as installing or registering the TimeSeries extension.
To revert to an earlier version of your database server, you must unregister all DataBlade modules and then remove every database object added since the database and database server were upgraded. BladeManager adds its objects to a database whenever you connect to a database with BladeManager.
The following conditions must be met to revert to an earlier database-server version:
You must use BladeManager to remove SQL objects created during registration of the ifxmngr DataBlade module. After the SQL objects are removed, run the following command:
unprep database_name

This note describes a message not covered in the finderr text or modified since the last finderr update.
If the security check a server utility performs at startup detects problems, it returns error messages. These messages are returned when the message file and internationalization support are not available; therefore, they do not have error numbers and are not translated.
For the following problems, one of the following messages displays and the utility continues:
For the following problems, the utility exits and displays one of the following messages:
This table defines the variables used in the messages above.
| filename | a name of the file or directory |
| logical-file | either ONCONFIG, INFORMIXSQLHOSTS, INFORMIXDIR, or INFORMIXDIR/xxx (where xxx is one of a number of sub-directories under $INFORMIXDIR). For example, if INFORMIXDIR is set to /usr/informix, the message might read: INFORMIXSQLHOSTS /usr/informix/etc/sqlhosts is not owned by the user with ID 1234. |
| mode | an octal permissions value |
| UID | a number |
| GID | a number |

The topic about the TO_DATE function contains incorrect examples of queries. The Figure 1 query, which uses the TO_DATE function to convert character string values to DATETIME values whose format you specify, should be:
SELECT customer_num, call_descr
FROM cust_calls
WHERE call_dtime = TO_DATE("2008-07-07 10:24",
"%Y-%m-%d %H:%M");
The query example in Figure 3 is incomplete and does not produce the desired results. Instead you can run a query that does not use the TO_DATE function, as shown in the following example:
SELECT order_num, paid_date FROM orders WHERE order_date = "6/7/08";

An obsolete link to information about semi-public functions and named memory should be removed from the "Memory-duration options" topic.
The example of allocating user-data memory in the "Persistent user data" topic contains one line of incorrect code. In the example, my_data_t should be statement_data_t, as follows:
MI_AM_TAB_DESC * tableDesc; /* Pointer to table descriptor */
typedef enum my_col_types
{
MY_INT = 1,
MY_CHAR
} my_col_type;
typedef struct my_row
{
mi_integer rowid;
mi_integer fragid;
char data[500];
struct my_row *next;
} my_row_t;
typedef struct statement_data
{
MI_DATUM *retrow; /*Points to data in memory*/
my_col_type col_type[10]; /*Data types of index keys*/
mi_boolean is_null[10]; /*Array of true and false indicators*/
my_row_t *current index entry;
MI_CONNECTION *conn;
MI_CALLBACK_HANDLE *error_cback;
} statement_data_t;
/*Allocate memory*/
statement_data_t* my_data = (statement_data_t*)
mi_dalloc(sizeof(statement_data_t), PER_STMT_EXEC);
mi_tab_setuserdata(tableDesc, (void *) my_data); /*Store pointer*/
These notes describe features and changes not covered in the IBM Informix Virtual-Table Interface Programmer's Guide or modified since publication.
The "Memory-Duration Options" topic contains a link to a Developer Zone site that is obsolete.
The "Allocating User-Data Memory" example in the "Persistent User Data" topic contains some incorrect code. The correct code is:
MI_AM_TAB_DESC * tableDesc; /* Pointer to table descriptor */
typedef enum my_col_types
{
MY_INT = 1,
MY_CHAR
} my_col_type;
typedef struct my_row
{
char data[500];
struct my_row *next;
} my_row_t;
typedef struct statement_data
{
MI_DATUM *retrow; /*Points to data in memory*/
my_col_type col_type[10]; /*Data types in the projected row*/
mi_boolean is_null[10]; /*Array of true and false indicators*/
my_row_t *current row;
MI_CONNECTION *conn;
MI_CALLBACK_HANDLE *error_cback;
} statement_data_t;
/*Allocate memory*/
statement_data_t* my_data = (statement_data_t*)
mi_dalloc(sizeof(statement_data_t), PER_STMT_EXEC);
mi_tab_setuserdata(tableDesc, (void *) my_data); /*Store pointer*/
Additionally, the code in the example that shows how to retrieve the pointer from the table descriptor that the mi_tab_setuserdata() function set should be:
my_data=(statement_data_t *)mi_tab_userdata(tableDesc);
